Have all of your ingredients measured out and at room temperature before you start the process of putting it all together. You can fill a pan a minute more if using a lighter batter a minute less when using a heavier batter. This is the part that you will need to judge as you gain experience. Always grease, flour and put parchment or wax paper along the lowest of the pans. Always let the cakes cool completely before surface and storing. You will need cardboard circles to put under each cake for withhold when lifting and animated the cakes. You need to decide how many layers your cakes will be before baking, you can bake each layer separate or cut your cakes in half to make two layers. (It depends on how deep your pans are and how much you fill them as to how many layers you get out of each cake.) For wedding cakes I prefer using a two layer cake with one layer of filling because it keeps the cake a minute more stable. But you will need to frame out your preferences.

Quick Napoleon dessert Recipes

Quick Napoleon dessert Recipes

A traditional Napoleon is a French dessert made from layers of puff pastry spread with a vanilla pastry cream. The top of the rectangle or triangular shaped sweet is drizzled with chocolate and or dusted with powdered sugar. Historians say that the Napoleon was created by a Danish royal chef in honor of a visit by a French emperor. And that Emperor Bonaparte's defeat at Waterloo was the consequent of an overindulgence of his now notable namesake pastry.

You may have a hard time distinguishing after eating a Napoleon what part is the best part. Is it the puff pastry or the pastry cream? I think all of the flavor combinations work very well together, so, I say all of it! This is a very quick and easy dessert recipe, and you will not spend all day in the kitchen. We are going to take the shortcut recipe and make it work for our recipe.

Cake Recipes

Making puff pastry from scratch is not an easy task to undertake. It is a labor and time oppressive endeavor. Perfectly chilled ingredients, repeated rolling to the accurate thickness, and precision folding are the keys to complete puff pastry. Not to mention working in a kitchen that is not humid. The right rolling and folding, along with the moisture in the butter, creates steam which causes the dough to puff and isolate into the flaky layers that the pastry is known for. Some chef's advise in any place from thirty minutes to two hours chilling time in the middle of rolling and folding. reconsider that the roll, fold and chill process is done four times, you need to block off two to eight hours to make puff pastry. Or, take a trip to the frosty food section of the grocery store and buy it.

Ready made puff pastry is ready in sheets or shells. To thaw it at room climatic characteristic takes about thirty minutes, in the refrigerator about four hours. It will keep in the refrigerator up to two days. When shaping the dough, work with one sheet at a time, refrigerating remaining sheets until ready to use. As with all dough deal with as diminutive as possible. A pastry wheel, pizza cutter or sharp knife are the best utensils for cutting the dough. Cut edges should be crisp to keep the layers isolate so that they puff during baking. all the time bake puff pastry in a approved oven and keep in mind that darker baking sheets cook faster.

Vanilla pastry cream is the thorough filling for a Napoleon. This is a very short recipe for making quick Napoleons.

1 package of frosty puff pastry dough

2 Packages of Vanilla instant pudding

1 Bottle of a good chocolate fudge or chocolate drizzle

3 Ounces of confectioners sugar

Prepare instant pudding according to package directions. While pudding is chilling consequent directions for thawing, unfolding and baking puff pastry sheets. Cut into desired shape at bake at 400° for twelve minutes or until golden. Pay close attention to baking time, sheets burn easily. Let cool to room temperature.

To assemble you will place a layer of pastry in bottom of a sheet pan. You will then gradually spread with a layer of pudding, then other layer of pastry. Repeat the layering process until ingredients are used up. You will then heat your chocolate fudge until it is at a pouring consistency. You will pour or drizzle over the tops of your Napoleons, and dust very lightly with the confectioners sugar. You will need a serrated knife to cut these into bars to sreve. Keep refrigerated until serving time.

If you want to substitute a low fat, or zero fat pudding in this recipe, there is still enough sugar to give it flavor with half or no fat in the pudding.

Cupcake Recipes - From Baking to Frosting

Cupcake Recipes - From Baking to Frosting

Any cake recipe can be converted to a cupcake one. Think cupcakes as mini cakes of anyone type of cake you are found of and using that cake's recipes, create appetizing mini cakes. With a box of cake mix, the whole process is made a lot easier. One box will make in the middle of 24 and 30 cupcakes baked in a quarterly size cupcake pan. But mixing the ingredients is where the real fun of making cakes is, so let's equip you with what you will need.

The Basics
21/4 cups flour
3 tsp baking powder
11/3 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
½ cup shortening
Food coloring

Cake Recipes

Depending on the recipe you are using, there will be additions to these ingredients. For instance, you can have ¼ cup cocoa for chocolate flavored cupcakes. Other flavorings you can add to your cake blend consist of nutmegs, ground ginger, lime, shredded coconut, mashed bananas, cinnamon, raisins and almonds among others. There is no limit to what you can use in your cupcake mixture, just as long as the flavors blend into each other well. Plainly adapt the separate cake recipes you like and turn them into cupcake recipes.

You will also need a cupcake pan, cupcake pan liners, mixer, large bowl and an oven.

Begin by preheating the oven. Add flour, baking powder, salt and sugar, milk, vanilla and shortening into the large bowl and beat for a minute. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating wholly after each addition. Mix wholly for nearby 3 minutes or until a level consistency is achieved.

Line the pan with the cupcake liners then fill 2/3 of them with the mixture. An ice-cream scoop will help you get definite amounts of blend in the pan. For regular-size pans, use a scoop that measures 1/3 so you only put two. As they rise, they will occupy the remaining space to form a mound. Place the pan in the oven and let it bake for nearby 23 minutes. If you need to make more but do not have other cupcake pan, store the blend in the refrigerator as the first batch of cupcakes cooks. When ready, remove, cool the pan for about 15 minutes then add the remaining mixture. On average, a pan makes 12 cupcakes at a time.

Allow the cupcakes time to cool wholly before you can frost them. In the meantime, work on the cupcake frosting recipes you are going to use. There are four basic types of frosting: butter cream, chocolate butter cream, dark chocolate ganache and lemon cream cheese frosting. For butter cream frosting, you will need to mix150g soft butter and 12g confectioner's sugar. Add 1 tsp vanilla and 2 tsp hot water or milk to make a creamy mix. To make chocolate butter frosting, substitute the vanilla with 2 tsp cocoa.

To make chocolate ganache, you need 1 ounce bittersweet chocolate, ½ cup heavy cream, 3 tbsp butter and 3 tbsp brandy (optional). Melt the first 3 ingredients and mix them all together. Pour in the brandy if using. Allow blend to cool before spreading generously over your cupcakes. Lemon cheese frosting will give a confident taste to your cupcakes. For this, sift 30g softened butter, 80g softened cream cheese, 1½ cup confectioner's sugar and 1 tsp grated lemon rind. Mix the ingredients and beat them till they are creamy, then spread them on the cupcakes. Use either a frosting/pastry spatula or pastry bag to evenly spread either type of frosting over the cupcakes.

Cake Recipes - Scrumptious Easy Layer Cake

The best thing about this cake, other than it being so easy, is that you can make it to please your taste buds! You unquestionably can choose any ingredients that you would like, but these are the ones that I have used in the past:

Cake

Banana Cake

Pudding

Fruit

Cool Whip

Here are some other ideas of things that you may wish to choose from:

Cake: yellow, angel food, chocolate, strawberry, white

Pudding: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, lemon, pistachio

Fruit: pineapple, cherry pie filling, bananas, peaches, pears (you can use as many fruits as you would like)

Chocolate chips, cinnamon candy, coconut, walnuts (or any other kind of nuts), are also great options.

Now to "build" your new layer cake, all you need to do is, layer the ingredients into a clear glass bowl. The presentation is so gorgeous because you can see all the colors & ingredients straight through the glass! You may want to choose ingredients & colors to match anything holiday that you are making ready the cake for.

Start with the cake as the first layer - (break into pieces or cut into squares), add fruit, then some pudding, then cool whip. Cake - fruit - pudding - cool whip, etc - until the bowl is practically filled.
You can then top with items like: coconut, nuts, or cherries if you wish.

If you'd like to have colored coconut, just place coconut in a ziplock bag with a few drops of food coloring, and mix until desired color is reached.

An example of a nice holiday display; a large platter with the glass bowl in the center. Add green coconut "grass" nearby the platter. Then, add a few nicely placed Easter eggs (candy, or the real ones =) nearby the green grass.

Filipino Recipes - Cassava Bibingka (cake) method - Pinoy Food

Cassava is one of the abundant root crops in the Philippines and you can use it for a wide range of cooking. But of the many cassava recipes available, cassava bibingka (or cassava cake) is the all-time favorite at home. I got this formula from my Grandma and it has never failed me yet. My husband may be a slight biased but he says it's like the one you can buy from Goldilocks (a paramount cake store and food chain in the country). Maybe, but I won't brag about it. Just try it yourself and see if you will agree. You can also add condensed milk on top to make it even more delightful.

Banana Cake
